This year’s ARHFA Cowtown Classic Rope Horse Futurity took place from July 5th to 7th at the renowned Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
The ARHFA was established in 2007 by Jay and Lindsay Wadhams to honor ropers who train and compete with young rope horses. ARHFA events combine the American Quarter Horse Association’s judging criteria with the speed needed in team roping. The 120-acre multi-purpose facility is known for its equestrian and livestock shows, with seating for thousands of spectators. It also hosts the only national events that use two judged scores and one timed score for a combined total. The judges’ criteria are based on four different maneuvers in both the heading and the heeling, which are then added to the time score.
In the heading discipline, a Legendary Stakes competitor, the horse DCC Fools Gold, claimed a single purse, earning 9 points, at the ARHFA Cowtown Classic Rope Horse Futurity, moving their way further up the leaderboard. The sire Metallic Echo earned a single $25 royalty for the entry of DCC Fools Gold, increasing their yearly earnings.
Thank you to all who entered in Legendary Stakes for the ARHFA Cowtown Classic Rope Horse Futurity. Congratulations to the winner for heading below:
