The Congress Cutting took place from September 30th to October 5th, 2024, in Eaton, Ohio.
The Congress Cutting, held at the Bullen Equestrian Center at the Preble County Fairgrounds in Eaton, Ohio, delivered an exciting week of cutting. As one of two satellite events of The All American Quarter Horse Congress, it is produced by OQHA (Ohio Quarter Horse Association) Honorary Director Chuck Smith, drawing top talent and enthusiasts for an unforgettable showcase.
In the cutting discipline, Legendary Stakes competitors claimed multiple purses at the Congress Cutting. In the open division, SDP Carpe Diem Baby, sired by Sannman and the dam SDP Hicapoo Cat, each earned 9 points. Meanwhile, Spots Hottish, sired by Hottish, secured 7 points. For each event entry, a $25 royalty is awarded to the sire, $25 to the breeder, and $25 to the dam owner. In this event, Sannman, SDP Hicapoo Cat, and SDP Buffalo Ranch—the sire, dam, and breeder of SDP Carpe Diem Baby—each received $50 in royalties due to the horse’s participation in both horse and dam entries. Similarly, Hottish, Reyann Hickory, and Lone Oak Performance Horse LLC—the sire, dam, and breeder of Spots Hottish—each earned $25 in royalties from a single horse entry.
