Navigate to the “Enroll Horse” section in the app and select “Legendary Stallion”.

Upload your stallion’s registration papers for verification purposes.
Select Disciplines
Choose the disciplines that best suit your stallion. This is optional and this can be modified later.
Provide Horse Details
Provide details such as the name, upload a photo, website and click “Enroll”. You’re done!

Legendary Stakes offers a new way for western performance horse competitors, breeders, and sire owners to benefit from the sport. It operates as a technology platform uniting 14 western disciplines (everything that uses a western saddle) and adds a supplementary layer of competition with significant prize money. As a sire owner, your sire’s offspring can compete for this additional prize money in Legendary Stakes events. Think of it like a side pot offered at many horse shows, but on a much larger scale and across multiple disciplines. Enrolling in Legendary Stakes creates a new revenue stream not present in traditional sire incentives, offering more equitable rewards and incentivizing the breeding of competitive horses.
Enrolling your sire is simple. Create a free account at legendarystakes.com, then enroll your sire for a one-time fee of $25,000.
You can pay the $25,000 up front, or finance it with $0 down. If you finance, the $25 royalty you earn as the sire owner on each entry by one of your sire’s offspring goes toward the balance until it’s paid off. Royalties pay off the enrollment balance first, then any discipline unlock balance.

Enrollment makes your sire eligible to unlock disciplines. His offspring compete only in disciplines that have been unlocked, and sire owner, dam owner, and breeder royalties start once at least one discipline is unlocked.
“Unlocking disciplines” is at the heart of Legendary Stakes. Enrolling your sire makes him eligible for unlocks, but enrollment alone doesn’t let his offspring compete. Each discipline you unlock opens that discipline to every offspring of your sire, and his offspring can compete only in unlocked disciplines. For example, if you unlock barrel racing, any horse sired by your sire can be entered in Legendary Stakes side pots at barrel racing events.
Sire owner, dam owner, and breeder royalties start once at least one discipline is unlocked.
Unlocking a discipline costs $15,000, and when you unlock your first discipline, you get a second discipline unlocked free. Financing is available with $5,000 cash down. The remaining $10,000 is paid from your sire owner royalties, after any enrollment balance is paid off. A financed unlock still includes the free bonus discipline.
Every entry to a Legendary Stakes event costs $250, and that fee divides the same way every time: $125 to the Legendary Purse, $50 to platform operations, and $25 each to the sire owner, the dam owner, and the breeder.
The horse owner and the rider do not receive a royalty. They earn from the Legendary Purse by placing.
When your enrolled sire has an offspring competing in a Legendary Stakes event within an unlocked discipline, you earn a 10% royalty on their $250 entry fee. This means you receive $25 for every entry by one of your offspring. But it doesn’t stop there! The breeder of the horse and the dam owner each receive a 10% royalty as well. This shared royalty structure ensures that everyone involved in bringing that horse into the world benefits from their competitive success. Imagine your sire has 100 offspring competing in Legendary Stakes events throughout the year; that’s a potential $2500 annual royalty. And this is a conservative estimate. As Legendary Stakes continues to grow in popularity and participation, the potential for earning significant royalties increases substantially. There is no annual fee when you enroll your sire with Legendary Stakes. The enrollment fee is a one-time payment that provides lifetime access to all platform features and royalties.

For Dam Owners:
As a dam owner, your contribution to a horse’s success is equally recognized. Legendary Stakes rewards you with a 10% royalty on every event entry fee paid for horses produced by your mares. Legendary Stakes purses are derived from the Legendary Purse, which is funded by all entry fees. When you win an event purse, you receive a percentage of the Legendary Purse.
