Legendary Stakes, Inc.  |  Effective August 28, 2026  |  Supersedes the policy last updated September 22, 2023

1. Who We Are

Legendary Stakes, Inc. is a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business at 1790 FM 2871, Fort Worth, Texas 76126. In this policy, “Legendary Stakes,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Legendary Stakes, Inc.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to legendarystakes.com, app.legendarystakes.com, the Legendary Stakes mobile applications for Android and iOS, and any other service that links to this policy. Together we call these the “Platform.”

By using the Platform you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you give us

  • Account information. Name, email address, phone number, mailing address, username and password, and your role in the sport, such as owner, rider, breeder, stallion owner or agent.

  • Horse and program information. Registered name, registration number, breed registry, sire, dam, breeder, owner of record, discipline, enrollment elections and related documentation you upload.

  • Entry and competition information. Events you enter, classes, divisions, results you submit or that are reported to us, and related correspondence.

  • Payment and payout information. Payment card and billing details are collected and processed by our payment processor, not by us. For payouts we collect the information required to pay you and to meet tax reporting obligations, which may include a Form W-9, a taxpayer identification number, and bank or mailing details.

  • Communications. Messages you send us through contact forms, email, chat, or support requests.

2.2 Information we collect automatically

  • Device and app information. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, mobile network, and a device or installation identifier used to deliver notifications.

  • Usage information. Pages and screens viewed, features used, search terms entered on the Platform, dates and times of access, and referring pages.

  • Log and diagnostic information. IP address, crash reports, and performance data used to diagnose problems.

  • Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies on our websites for sign-in, security, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may break parts of the Platform.

2.3 Information from third parties

  • Breed registries, associations and event producers. We receive pedigree, registration, earnings, and results data from breed registries, industry associations, event producers and public industry sources in order to build and maintain horse, rider, owner and breeder records.

  • Service providers. Our authentication, payment and email providers give us limited confirmation data, such as whether a sign-in succeeded or a payment cleared.

  • Other participants. Another user may enter information that identifies you, for example when an agent enrolls a horse on behalf of an owner, or when a rider is named on an entry.

3. How We Use Information

  • To create and administer your account and verify who you are.

  • To process enrollments, entries, fees, purses, royalties and payouts.

  • To build and maintain horse, rider, owner, breeder and stallion records and the ratings, standings and leaderboards built on them.

  • To send transactional messages such as confirmations, receipts, results, payout notices and service announcements.

  • To send marketing messages about Legendary Stakes events and programs, where you have not opted out.

  • To provide customer support and respond to your requests.

  • To secure the Platform, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use and program rules.

  • To analyze and improve the Platform, including aggregated and de-identified analysis of participation and performance.

  • To comply with tax, accounting and other legal obligations.

4. Information That Is Public on the Platform

Legendary Stakes is a competition and records platform. Some information is public by design. Horse records, pedigrees, results, standings, leaderboards, earnings attributed to a result, and the names of the owner, rider, breeder, dam owner and sire owner credited with a result may be displayed publicly on the Platform and may be shared with event producers, associations and media.

Your contact details, payment information, payout information and taxpayer information are never displayed publicly.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as described here.

Who What we share Why
Google Firebase Account identifiers, authentication tokens, device tokens Sign-in, account security, push notifications
Square Name, contact details, transaction amounts Processing card payments. Square collects card data directly
SendGrid Name, email address, message content Sending transactional and program email
Amazon Web Services Uploaded files and stored records Hosting, file storage and content delivery
Event producers and associations Entry, horse, rider and result information Running the events and verifying results
Royalty and purse participants Names and results credited to a payout Paying the owner, rider, breeder, dam owner and sire owner
Professional advisors As needed Legal, accounting and tax services

We may also disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Legendary Stakes, our users or the public. If Legendary Stakes is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

6. Payment Information

Card payments are processed by Square. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. Square’s handling of your payment data is governed by Square’s own privacy policy. We retain records of transactions, amounts and dates for accounting, dispute resolution and tax purposes.

7. Push Notifications

If you install the mobile app and enable notifications, we may send push notifications about entries, results, payouts, deadlines and program news. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings or in your account settings. Turning them off does not stop transactional email.

8. Data Retention

We keep account and horse records for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to run the program, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Financial and tax records are kept for the period required by law, generally seven years. Competition results, standings and pedigree records are part of the permanent record of the sport and may be retained and displayed indefinitely, including after an account is closed. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.

9. Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and correction. You can view and update most account and horse information inside the Platform. For anything you cannot change yourself, contact us.

  • Account deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time. Submit a request at legendarystakes.com/contact or email support@legendarystakes.com from the address on your account. We will confirm receipt and complete the request within thirty days.

  • What deletion does not remove. We retain records we are legally required to keep, including financial and tax records, and we retain competition results, earnings and pedigree records as part of the permanent record of the sport. Those records may continue to display the horse, the result and the names credited with it.

  • Marketing opt out. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Opting out does not stop transactional messages about your account, entries or payouts.

  • Cookies. Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies.

10. State Privacy Rights

If you live in California, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request a copy, to request correction, to request deletion, and to appeal a denial. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for targeted advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To make a request, email support@legendarystakes.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity before acting on the request. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written authorization.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is intended for adults. Legendary Stakes accounts are for users eighteen and older, and a payment method and taxpayer information are required to compete for purses and royalties.

Youth competitors are common in Western performance sports. Where a youth competes, the account must be held and managed by a parent, legal guardian or other adult of record, and payouts are made to that adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under thirteen. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under thirteen other than through an adult-held account, we will delete it. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided us information directly may contact support@legendarystakes.com and we will remove it.

12. Security

We protect information with encrypted transport, token-based authentication, least-privilege access controls for cloud resources, externalized secrets and input validation. Payment card data is handled by our payment processor and not stored on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential, and tell us right away if you believe your account has been compromised.

13. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform links to breed registries, associations, event producers and other third-party sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

14. Location of Processing

We are based in the United States and process and store information in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the effective date at the top of the page and, for material changes, provide additional notice through the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
