The Royal Crown Guthrie took place from May 21-30, 2024, in Guthrie, OK.
Hosted at the Lazy E Arena, just southeast of Guthrie and northeast of Edmond/Oklahoma City, this event featured a variety of competitions including barrel racing and roping, with significant prize money up for grabs. Participants competed in the Royal Crown Futurity, Derby, and Open classes. The event also included exhibitions, vendor booths, and a live feed for remote spectators. The Lazy E Arena, known for its rich rodeo history and premier facilities, added to the event’s appeal.
The Lazy E Arena has a storied past, having hosted numerous prestigious events since its opening in 1984, such as the National Finals Steer Roping Finals in 1984 and the Cinch Timed Event Championship of the World. Its top-notch facilities and dedication to the western way of life make it a favored venue for major rodeo events.
In the barrel racing discipline, a Legendary Stakes competitor claimed a single purse at the Royal Crown Guthrie, earning their way further up the leaderboard. Under the sire Slick By Design, the horse Persnikitty, owned by Garrett Henry, received 9 points, improving their standings on the leaderboard. The sire Slick By Design earned $25 in royalties.
