The Sgt. Colton Levi Derr Foundation is hosting a special rodeo event at the Fairgrounds in New Underwood, South Dakota, on August 24, 2025. This event will bring together competitors for fast-paced action in barrel racing, pole bending, breakaway roping, and team roping, all while supporting an amazing cause. Riders of all levels will gather to compete, honor veterans, and raise awareness for mental health through equine sports.
Every run helps support the invisible battles many veterans continue to face, honoring the legacy of Sgt. Colton Levi Derr and all who have served. All proceeds go toward supporting those still fighting battles we cannot see. Legendary Stakes diversifies your horse’s earning power and rewards all participants in the Annual Competition. In a Legendary Stakes event, you can enter as Horse Owner, Rider, Dam Owner, Breeder, and win purses in your category that will grow in value throughout the year. Stallion owners and breeders will receive a 10% royalty for each entry connected to their offspring, allowing stallions to participate and be rewarded in the competitive lifespan of their offspring.
